COUN 582 - Internship in Counseling Credit Hours: 3-6
In this exit level 600 clock hour field experience course, the student utilizes a variety of counseling skills and applications in an appropriate counseling setting under the direction of a professional counselor. For each three credit hours of Internship, 200 clock hours of counseling experience is required, with a minimum of 80 hours of direct client contact. Nine credit hours are required for the Master’s degree, with a minimum of 240 direct client contact hours, completed over a minimum of two semesters with three credits in the first semester and six credits in the second or three credits taken each semester for three semesters.
Prerequisite: COUN 581 , or have a graduate degree in counseling from another institution and the approval by the counseling faculty and the School of Education Associate Dean. Level of Study: GR
