The Graduate Certificate in Gifted Education, a Gifted Endorsement, is required by NMAC 6.31.2 to teach in a self-contained Gifted classroom/Gifted resource room. This statute governs teacher preparation, required credentials, programming, student eligibility, etc.

SPED 540 - Introduction to Gifted Education Credit Hours: 3
SPED 543 - Twice Exceptional and Special Populations of Gifted Students Credit Hours: 3
SPED 546 - Curriculum and Methods for Gifted Students Credit Hours: 3
SPED 545 - Contemporary Issues in Gifted Education Credit Hours: 3
or
SPED 547 - Practice Teaching-Gifted Education Credit Hours: 1-5
SPED 596 - Practice Teaching Seminar Credit Hours: 1
