The mission of the Kinesiology Program is to explore the multidimensional aspects of human movement and establish a foundation of applicable knowledge and skills through coursework, scholarly activity, and community outreach. 

Western New Mexico University offers a Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Art in Kinesiology as well as minors in Kinesiology and Sports Management. Students complete a degree in Kinesiology will have the skills to empower diverse populations by promoting physically active lifestyles as a way to optimize health, well-being, and performance.

The mission of the Western New Mexico University School of Nursing is to promote health and improve the quality of life for diverse populations by providing nursing education which instills the values of community, nursing scholarship, practice and community service.

Western New Mexico University offers a BSN program that consists of two separate tracks: the pre-licensure BSN track and the RN-to-BSN track. Students who complete the first track are eligible to take the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX) required to become licensed as Registered Nurses (RNs). Students who complete the second track already possess the RN license. Currently, the School of Nursing offers on graduate programs: the Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) program focused on Community & Rural/Frontier Health.

Final admission to the Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) Program is contingent on passing a criminal background check.
