SWK 501 - Cultural Competency in Social Work Practice

Credit Hours: 3

Provides students with conceptual basis for cross-cultural social work interventions. Explores dynamics of and provides historical context for understanding oppression/discrimination. Focuses on multicultural environments as they affect human development, communication, assessment, problem solving processes, and interventions appropriate for effective service delivery.

Prerequisite: Admission to the M. S. W. Program.
