Designed to prepare counselors to become competent at recognizing and diagnosing mental health disorders as defined by the current version of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Health Disorders (DSM-V). Students also investigate the concept of “mental health” within an historical, ethical, and cultural context.
