SWK 487 - Mezzo Practice in Social Work

This is an introductory course in group work practice. Its objective is to teach students the knowledge and practice skills which are necessary for group work practice. The course emphasizes basic theory about groups and group process, demonstrates the skills necessary for effective practice, and gives students the opportunity to discuss and practice these skills. Addition, the course is designed to acquaint students with the many uses task and treatment groups in a broad range of settings with diverse client groups.

Prerequisite: Admission to the Program
Writing Intensive Writing Intensive.
