The Center for Student Success offers a variety of services to support the academic and overall success of WNMU students, including Academic Alert, One Stop Food Pantry, tutoring (peer, embedded, and online), and assistance with applications for emergency aid, SNAP, and other resources. The Center for Student Success administers initiatives for students on academic probation who need additional academic support through a Path to Success program. Open Monday through Friday, the Center for Student Success offers a social space where students can meet with tutors.
Early Alert Program
Early Alert Program is used to identify students in their classes who may be “at risk” and refer those students to the Center for Student Success. Students, staff and faculty may also submit an Early Alert if they are made aware of academic or other issues experienced by a student with whom they work or interact. Identified students are contacted and, in concert with the professor, designated staff member (if necessary), and student, a plan is developed for the students to obtain appropriate progress in the course. Student Services Specialists, faculty advisors, tutors, and other appropriate support staff will assist students to improve their class performance, and may refer students to appropriate services on campus and in the community. The Early Alert form is located in Mustang Express dashboard and can be accessed by any faculty, student, or staff member who determines that a student may benefit from personalized services.
